MEET THE TEAM
Dr. Ross Downes completed his postgraduate training at the University of The West Indies and received additional training in Laparoscopic Surgery for which he holds multiple certificates. Downes is the pioneer of single incision better known as scarless laparoscopic surgery in the Bahamas and serves as consultant staff at Doctors Hospital in New Providence; Bahamas.
He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and actively participates with The Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons. He is also a member of the editorial board for the Academic Journal Clinics in Surgery and now serves as our knowledgeable leader and the Managing Director here at Phoenix Medical Centre; a premier ambulatory day surgery facility in central Nassau.

Karla A. McPhee holds a degree in Science and serves as both Medical Assistant and Office Manager here at Phoenix Medical Centre. Dr. Mucomba Millar was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. He obtained his medical degree at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. His residency in Family Medicine was completed at the Bahamas campus of the University of the West Indies and he has obtained fellowships in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, World Laparoscopy Hospital in New Delhi, India, and the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad, India.

Dr. Millar is currently a consultant with the Public Hospitals Authority and has a special interest in cancer prevention and screening.
